12-Ounce All-Purpose Spray Cleaner
While there are some parts of your home that will require more specific solutions, this is a good general choice. This all-purpose spray can be used throughout your home and isn’t too harsh.
4 oz. Distilled White Vinegar
2 Tbsp Baking Soda
10 drops essential oils
Mix this with a bit of water and then add to your 12-ounce spray bottle and then fill the rest with water.
Furniture Polish and Cleaner
Wooden furniture requires gentle cleaning. Dust can accumulate very easily on furniture and will eventually reach the air where it can potentially cause breathing difficulties. This recipe is effective enough to get a good clean, while also being gentle enough to not cause any issues for the furniture.
Take these three simple ingredients and mix them.
One-half cup of vinegar
One-quarter cup of olive oil
One tablespoon of lemon juice
If you have a spray bottle, this solution works well with that. Otherwise, you can use a dampen a fine cloth with the cleaner and wipe down your furniture.
Oven Cleaner
Bits of food fall into our oven and get baked onto the surface covering it in grime. It might not be an issue until you start smelling smoke when you cook or you’re grossed out by the process of cooking with it.
We recommend that you don’t let it get to that point. After all, it’s really quite easy to clean it out with these two widespread ingredients.
2 parts Baking Soda
1 part water
Mix these in an amount that can cover your oven. You’ll spread a thin layer of this throughout your oven. It should be thick enough to stick to the walls without much trouble. You’ll want to leave the product to soak up all of that grease over the next half-hour or so. From there you can wipe it away easily, leaving behind a sparkly clean oven to cook in.
Bonus Recipe: Gel Diffuser
If your home is smelling a bit stale, this fun DIY project can solve your problem! Take 1 pack unflavored gelatin and mix with 2 cups of distilled water. Add a tablespoon of salt and ten drops of your favorite essential oil. As the gelatin evaporates, the scent will be delivered throughout your home.
